Why I built Craft instead of subscribing to Moz
The story behind Craft's creation: a solo founder's frustration with bloated SEO tools and the simple alternative he built.
I used to pay $99/month for Moz Pro. I used maybe 15% of the features. The rest was noise: dashboards I never opened, reports I never read, and a learning curve that felt like a second job.
So I built my own toolkit. A spreadsheet for keyword gap analysis, a checklist for on-page audits, and a simple tracker for competitor rankings. No login required, no upsells, no training. It took a weekend to build and it's been running for over a year.
Craft is that toolkit, polished and shared. It's not for everyone—if you need enterprise features, go elsewhere. But if you're a solo founder who just wants to fix your meta tags and find a few untapped keywords, this is enough.
